PROSPECT CODE OF CONDUCT

PROSPECT, a data platform operated by Access to Energy Institute.

PROSPECT provides its software on an open source, free of charge basis, to help its users collect, aggregate, analyze and display data from any modern renewable energy solution.

This PROSPECT Code Of Conduct applies to all PROSPECT users, employees, contractors, partners, and anyone acting on behalf of or interacting with the PROSPECT platform.


1. OUR COMMITMENT

1.1 Platform Purpose

PROSPECT is operated by Access to Energy Institute (A2EI), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the global transition to renewable energy. Our platform enables organizations to collect, aggregate, analyze, and display data from renewable energy solutions — transparently, securely, and without bias.

1.2 Policy Scope

This PROSPECT Code Of Conduct reflects our core values and the standards of ethical behavior that guide how we operate, how we treat our users, and how we protect the data entrusted to us.

1.3 Core Values

We are committed to:

  • Integrity — We act honestly, transparently, and with the highest ethical standards
  • Independence — We never invest in projects registered on our platform and maintain objectivity in all data processing
  • Privacy — We protect personal data in compliance with GDPR and ISO 27701 standards
  • Accountability — We take responsibility for our actions and are answerable to our users
  • Inclusion — We serve all users fairly, regardless of background, location, or organization size

1.4 Technology Neutrality

PROSPECT does not opine on, test the veracity of, or rank the quality of any specific renewable energy solution. Our analytical role is confined to data completeness checks and platform functionality. We remain technology-agnostic and committed to serving the renewable energy sector as a whole.

1.5 Policy Framework

This PROSPECT Code Of Conduct works alongside our PROSPECT Terms Of Use and PROSPECT Data Protection Policy to establish the framework for trust, transparency, and accountability that PROSPECT users can rely on.


2. ANTI-CORRUPTION & FAIR DEALING

2.1 Zero Tolerance Policy

PROSPECT maintains zero tolerance for corruption, bribery, and fraudulent activity. This commitment protects the integrity of renewable energy data and ensures fair treatment for all users.

2.2 Prohibited Conduct

PROSPECT users must not:

  • Submit false, misleading, or manipulated data to the platform
  • Attempt to influence platform scoring, analytics, or outcomes through improper means
  • Use the platform for fraudulent purposes or to facilitate corruption
  • Offer bribes or improper advantages to PROSPECT personnel

2.3 Consequences

Violations of this section may result in account suspension, data removal, and reporting to relevant authorities where required by law.

2.4 Reporting

We encourage users to report suspected corruption or fraudulent activity through our reporting channels (see Section 5).


3. ENVIRONMENTAL & SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

3.1 Mission Alignment

PROSPECT exists to accelerate the global transition to renewable energy. We are committed to operating in a manner that aligns with this mission and contributes positively to environmental sustainability and social development.

3.2 Organizational Commitments

We are committed to:

  • Supporting energy access in underserved communities through transparent data and analytics
  • Promoting renewable energy adoption through open, accessible technology
  • Minimizing the environmental impact of our platform operations
  • Respecting the cultural and social contexts of communities served by PROSPECT users

3.3 User Expectations

PROSPECT users are encouraged to:

  • Use the platform to support legitimate renewable energy projects
  • Respect local communities and environments where projects are deployed
  • Contribute accurate data that supports informed decision-making for sustainable energy development

3.4 Prohibited Uses

We do not support the use of PROSPECT for projects that cause significant environmental harm, violate human rights, or undermine community wellbeing.


4. INTEGRITY & INDEPENDENCE

4.1 Objectivity Commitment

PROSPECT is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and independence in all platform operations. We never invest in projects registered on our platform, ensuring complete objectivity.

4.2 Prohibited Actions

PROSPECT will not:

  • Favor any particular user or technology provider
  • Give assurances or guarantees about platform scoring or outcomes
  • Engage in marketing activities on behalf of registered users
  • Influence data entries or advise users on project investments

4.3 Data Processing Standards

All data processing and analytics are performed objectively, based solely on data completeness checks and platform functionality. We remain technology-agnostic and committed to serving the renewable energy sector as a whole.

4.4 Conflict of Interest

We maintain policies and controls to identify and manage conflicts of interest that could affect platform integrity.


5. REPORTING CONCERNS & WHISTLEBLOWER PROTECTION

5.1 Reporting Encouragement

PROSPECT encourages users to report any suspected violations of this PROSPECT Code Of Conduct, including corruption, data manipulation, or unethical behavior.

5.2 Reporting Channels

Reports can be submitted through our confidential whistleblowing system at https://leaks.a2ei.org or by contacting our Data Protection Officer at dpo@prospect.energy. All reports will be handled confidentially and investigated in a fair, impartial, and timely manner.

5.3 Non-Retaliation

We are committed to protecting individuals who report concerns in good faith. Retaliation against anyone who raises legitimate concerns is strictly prohibited.

5.4 False Reports

Knowingly false or malicious reports are prohibited and may result in appropriate action.


6. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT & COMPLIANCE

6.1 Management System Standards

PROSPECT is committed to maintaining and continuously improving our information security and privacy management systems in accordance with ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 standards.

6.2 Regular Reviews

We conduct regular reviews of our policies, security controls, and privacy practices to ensure they remain effective, up to date, and aligned with evolving legal and regulatory requirements.

6.3 Policy Updates

This PROSPECT Code Of Conduct will be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect changes in our operations, applicable laws, and industry best practices.


7. FINAL PROVISIONS

7.1 Third-Party Rights

This PROSPECT Code Of Conduct does not create any contractual rights for third parties.

7.2 Approval and Compliance

This PROSPECT Code Of Conduct was approved by the Managing Directors of Access to Energy Institute. All employees and individuals acting on behalf of PROSPECT are expected to comply with the spirit and letter of this Code.
